They say you learn alot about what to pack or not pack on a trip.....once you actually arrive and begin the journey. I can agree with that notion.
At the last minute, we decided not to take my laptop, thought it might be too much to drag around and it turned out my new fancy dancy do everything smart phone the Palm Pre was not connected to any French or Italian cell service providers yet so I could not text and send pictures directly to my blog as I had hoped. Alas I am relying on the complimentary lobby computer at our Paris hotel Le Cadren and a the airport business lounge in Frankfurt.
So whats the problem you ask?
Apparently each country decides where they are going to place their letters and keys on a keyboard. In Germany the Z and the H really are reversed and DELETE AND INSERT are hiddden and ALT keys are different and of course the abbreviation titles on the keyboard and the instructions on the computer itself and the internet are German. Here in France; it is the commas, the strange placement of the much used A , M, INSERT, PERIODS, DELETE ; CURSOR and ALT Keys that have slowed my writing to a crawl and make my first drafts look like a monkey with access to a new toy might have created.
So, I will apologize now for not writing as much trip info as I had hoped from here on in. Ive got lots to tell, lots of pics to add, but most will wait til we are back home on my friendly little laptop.
To stress my point,
Here is the unedited version of that same sentence....
