Our little hotel in Paris is a 5 minute stroll from the Eiffel Tower. Our room is on the top 5th floor in a renovated centuries old building on the corner of Champs de Mars and Rue De Cler. There is a wine shop, frommagerie and chocalate shop all within lunging distance. Need I say more.
Our room from the outside can be seen from the street with its old shutters, iron flower boxes and Parisian appeal. From the room itself the quaint open air windows allow you to see and smell the world of shops and boulangeries below. The pasteries smell warm and sweet as they waft there way up in the early morning. The most incredible part of the room, we see the blue sky, adjacent housetops and the top of the Eiffel tower while lounging on our bed.
Yesterday, we hit the city: We walked to the Eiffel in the morning, walked to the Musee De Orsay, passed the lines with our museum pass and saw the illuminating colours of Van Gogh; Monet and Renoir. Saw the Mona Lisa at the Louvre and marvelled at the medievel structure of this former palace. Napoleans apartments draped in red velvet, gold and gilded walls and frescos was a sight. And to finish the night we walked back to the Eiffel tower and walked up to the second floor summit to see the sparkle lights illuminate the night sky at 10pm
