Okay it's only been a few days since I last wrote but I feel as a world of travels and experiences have passed. Finding time to write is tough where there is so much to see and explore and there is much goooooood wine to taste and drink!
We met our group tour Monday afternoon in Paris and what a great bunch. 2 young honeymooners from Colorado, 2 retired Aussies from near Melbourne. Our leader is Guiseppe, bright young man from Genoa Italy now based in Amsterdam, he speaks 5 languages, loves wine and food, eats, lives and breathes his culture and knows his European history intimately. Bert and I will be trailing him like bewildered puppies and true to form I will pepper him with a gazillion strange questions I am sure. I can tell already, he will attempt to answer every one of them, as he also appears to be patient and kind. There is lots to learn. Lots to explore. We travelled by highspeed train to Dijon. Quaint ville with amazing shops. Beaune, the capital of Burgundy, the Capital of all things wonderful in Pinot Noir and Grand Cru is part of the region. Amazing Vin to savour, living, breathing architecture and village life and wine making and cullinary delights abounds in this area . And yes it is Dijon, so truly the mustarde is wonderful here. The grains, the delicate textures lend you to eat it straight from the knife. And no, there is no one driving around in a chauffeur driven rolls royce asking "pardon me do you have any Grey Poupon?" But, it would be damn fun to reply ....
"But of Course!"
